The fifth Biology class investigated how light intensity affects plant oxygen production using pondweed (Elodea). Students placed Elodea in water, varied the distance of the lamp, and counted the oxygen bubbles as a measure of a photosynthesis rate. The closer the lamp was to the Elodea the more bubbles were counted. This showed a greater rate of photosynthesis.
